The Alberta Court of Appeal dismissed the accused's appeal of a 12 month jail sentence and a 4 year driving prohibition which was imposed when he pleaded guilty to impaired driving causing bodily harm. Mr. MacPherson was 30 years old and had a prior record, including convictions for impaired driving and assault causing bodily harm.
